Rabbit Plate No. 02: Lunch on the Way
Rabbit Plates are rarely glamorous. Most of the time they are simply what I can pull together before I walk out the door, and this one was exactly that.
I packed cheese, turkey, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, cucumber, olives and a bag of crackers and ate it on the way to a filming of the Russell Brand podcast. Not exactly a traditional lunch, but very much a Rabbit Plate.

The reason I was headed there made the day especially meaningful. My friends and clients Kris and Jackie Laidlaw, authors of Mirror Me, were special guests on the podcast that day, and I had been invited to come support them.

There is something really special about getting to watch people you care about step into a moment they have worked toward. So much of creative work happens quietly, long before anyone else sees it. The writing, the conversations, the ideas, the uncertainty, the deciding to keep going. Then every once in a while, you get to sit in the room when something bigger happens.
I was grateful to be there for theirs.
And apparently, because life rarely leaves quite enough time between one thing and the next, I arrived fueled by olives, cheese, crackers and whatever else I could fit into a divided glass container.
Honestly, that may be the most accurate Rabbit Plate yet.
A little of this. A little of that. Packed quickly, eaten on the move and good enough to get me where I was going.
